Estrella Matos Hispanic Youth Art Foundation Guidelines For Grant Recipients
1. Grant recipients must be formally nominated by an art instructor at the child’s school.
2. Art Instructors: please be sure that the young artist and their parent/guardian are willing and able to comply with these Guidelines before nominating!
Qualifications for nomination of a grant recipient: a) financial need, b) artistic interest, c) willingness to produce a work of art using the supplies purchased from grant reward, d) signed release of parent or guardian on behalf of the artist, allowing the work of art and a photograph of the young artist to be posted on the Foundation’s website and promotional material e) within 30 days of receipt of the grant, one or more photos of the art work and young artist shall be emailed to the Foundation.
3. Recipient’s parent or guardian shall provide a signed release permitting the Foundation to post said photo(s) of the art work and young artist on its website and promotional material. The release may be accessed HERE.
4. Each grant recipient will receive a gift card to a local arts and craft store.
5. Recipient may purchase any art supplies they wish, provided that the supplies will be used to create a work of art which will be photographed and emailed to the Foundation within 30 days of receipt of the gift card.
6. The work of art shall be maximum size of a poster board (approximately 2 feet by 3 feet), and minimum size of a letter-size sheet of paper (9 inches by 11 inches). The art work may be a drawing or painting using any type of medium or supplies the artist wishes. The artwork may also be a 3- dimensional work (such as of clay, wood or paper mache) and the size may be determined by the artist.
7. Within 30 days of receipt of the gift card, one or more photos of the work of art and the young artist shall be emailed to: [email protected]
